SOUTH WEST TRIP 2019
we waited so long for the southwest trip to come around again. New to the tour were Nathan and Ron plus a catch up with Dennis Couzic and Nick Williams who are both well. A big hello to Robert WATERER who traveled across from NSW on two new knees.
CAPEL on Friday proved a challenge to almost everyone. Strong winds all day and trees that jumped out onto the fairways. The dung beetles were on strike and most fairways had their share of "wisdom berries". There was no shortage of fly's either. Quick greens were the order of the day. RESULTS: 1 ST Adam Kuzimsk 35 points, Mark Ensor c/b Paul Greenwood 32 points. NOVELTIES (ALL NEAREST THE PINS) Adam Kuzimski x 2, Alan Phillips x l, Gary Smith x 1.

On to Dunsborough for Saturday's game at the Lakes. It was a cool and sometimes damp morning.
Fortunately the strong winds blew the clouds away. This links type course with plenty of water
provided plenty of run on the fairways (if you could hit them). This was a very slow game owing
to several groups of woman dressed in tutu's having their Xmas celebrations. Someone did
comment that it was far better to look at their bums than some of the males playing!!! Nathan
set a hot pace for the first nine when he scored 21 points but as we all know there is another
nine to follow. Once again Adam maintained his form to win the day playing off a seven
handicap.
RESULTS Adam Kuzimsk 37 points, Nathan Gear 35 points and Frank Cashen. 33 points NOVELTIES (ALL NEAREST THE PINS) Adam Kuzimsk x2, Alan Phillips xl, Gary Smith x1.

I played with Nick who gave the waiting crowd a demonstration of pitching to the 18th green guarded by the lake. I counted four that never made it over the water but I managed to retrieve a couple.
For me the highlight of the day was Mark's white shirt. After preaching that it is necessary to take your punishment and penalty for relief from the water hazard he decided to spray himself with dirty water. One must practice what you preach Mark, as the Lord giveth but the golf course quickly takes it all back!!!! It is a great photograph which I am sure will be seen again.
Second highlight was the "shoeey" by Adam with the new shoes he had to buy having left a pair at home.
Up bright and early on Sunday morning for the drive back to Bunbury for the game at the old course. After dodging iron-man competitors, multi novas and cops in unmarked SUV's we discovered that Burgo could not take his place (the strain of carrying his wallet?) (Get well soon mate)
The revised teams had the KUZIMSK1 factor to overcome as no one had recorded the triple on a Scuds SW Trip.

The Bunbury course is one of my favorites with a great country feel. Large trees well-guarded greens, which are quick, the elevated teeing areas and local wildlife. Prepared to perfection and once again with prevailing winds it was game on.
RESULTS: IAN, FRANK, CHRIS AND ALAN NET 60.38
2ND: JOE, BEN AND GARY 65.84
3RD: MARK, ROBERT AND PAUL 66.65 4th RON, ADAM, NATHAN AND KEITH (Disq)
The triple crown safe for another year; Once again many, many laughs and great company with fond memories.

Plenty of highlights and I hope you featured in a few photographs provided by Robert and I included the photo of Gary outside the Bunbury Club house and was going to send it to the social column of the West Australian newspaper but he was wearing his son's (Stewies) pants.

Robert you are a stubborn old bugger and hope that the trip has not caused you any setback and we all wish you well for a complete recovery in the coming months.
Once again a big thank-you to our Fairy (Ian Fairchild) for his organization of another super away trip.
One or two minor hiccups that you quickly overcome Thanks Ian and here's to the next SW Trip only 363 days away!!!!!!!
Sarg
